Google's research showed that the majority of purchases (82%) are made through retail websites. It was also noted that people in Europe began shopping online much earlier than in Ukraine and some other countries. This suggests that more and more people are unwilling to waste their precious time shopping. It's much more convenient and faster to buy everything you need online, without leaving your home or office.

Simply put, internet marketing is selling products or services online. The idea is to convert regular website visitors into current customers, thereby increasing profits.

Classic marketing and internet marketing, is there a difference?

The most important advantages of internet marketing:
— Interactivity – the campaign communicates with the target audience online, offering advice, life hacks, and more. This leads to increased brand loyalty;
— Targeted advertising is a way to find the right audience to drive a return message. It also offers the opportunity to expand your customer reach by expanding to other regions and countries;
Analytics—where would we be without it? As with everything, we need to keep records to understand which tools have made our operations more efficient and what specifically helped increase profits.

The goals and objectives of traditional and internet marketing are similar:

— promote goods or services;
— to study the attitude of consumers towards the product;
- to increase the competitiveness of the company and its product.

However, traditional marketing is limited geographically and lacks direct feedback from consumers. Traditional marketing focuses on the interests of the average consumer, while online marketing can instantly connect with consumers and address their needs. Furthermore, traditional marketing is more expensive than online marketing, which is not the case with online marketing. Both types of marketing use different methods of business promotion.

Business promotion methods:

1. Internet marketing:
— email;
— mailings;
- blogging;
— forums;
— video clips;
— mini-games.

2. Traditional Marketing:
— email;
— mailings;
- blogging;
— forums.

An internet marketing strategy is the very first step you need to take. Without one, you'll end up wasting a lot of money and money.
The internet marketing strategy is based on the most direct and targeted contact with the consumer.

Steps to Writing a Strategy (Briefly) for Internet Marketing

1. Defining the target audience (its profile, what motivates it to buy);
2. Analysis of competitors (direct, indirect, global);
3. Using certain internet marketing tools (SMM, PPC, SEO, web analytics).
It is important to remember, In internet marketing, there's no standard, step-by-step strategy that works equally well for every business. Each strategy is developed individually, with a detailed analysis of the target audience, market specifics, and business goals.

Now let's talk about classical marketing

Let's start with the fact that any businessperson would benefit from knowing classical marketing theory. After all, marketing begins long before advertising and promoting a product or service. Before promoting, it's essential to thoroughly understand consumer needs, and only then begin advertising.

The main definition: "Marketing is a type of human activity aimed at satisfying needs and requirements through exchange." And here is the important point - satisfying needs and requirements!

Let's look at the difference between human needs and wants:
— «Need is a feeling of a person’s lack of something.»
— «A need is a requirement that has taken a specific form in accordance with the cultural level and personality of the individual.».

In other words, if a person's need is food, one person will feel the need to eat pizza, and the other will feel the need to eat a bowl of soup.
Most websites cater to specific needs, and this is often their weakness, while ignoring their competitors.

For example, you have a business selling products with unique (custom) designs, and you compete with two companies, both of which provide significantly worse services than you. Yes, you're practically a monopoly in satisfying the demand for unique designs, but not the need. Also, in this case, you're ignoring the fact that there are companies that can provide the same services as you, but as complementary ones. Consequently, you've already eliminated some of your competitors at the outset.

It is important to remember that it is the feeling of need that needs to be met, not just the want!

Conclusion

1. We look for the needs and requirements of consumers;
2. We look for a way to satisfy these needs;
3. Create consumer value.

Consumer value = the benefits of your product minus the costs.
Selling quality services isn't enough, as your competitors may offer them too. You need to learn to sell emotions, experiences, values, and benefits so that clients stay with you forever and recommend you as an expert in the future. Marketers, like online marketers, must sell emotions, sensations, and user experience. After all, marketers aren't just selling air conditioners, but the comfort of a cool room. Keep this in mind.
Today, internet marketing offers significantly greater opportunities than traditional marketing. This is why more and more companies are recently launching their own websites and starting to engage in internet marketing.
