SunRise is a foreign language school for children and adults, and also offers teacher training. The website is built using WordPress, a content management system. Due to its very low mobile performance, a decision was made to speed up the website.
- Conduct Google PageSpeed Insights testing before starting work (and after optimization);
- Conduct a technical audit and find critical errors that affect website loading speed;
- Accelerate the First Contentfile Paint, Speed Index, Largest Contentful Paint, Time to Interactive, Total Blocking Time indicators to the green zone according to PageSpeed;
- Indicators that are currently in the green zone should remain in the green zone;
- Defer loading of non-critical JavaScript and CSS;
- Optimize images, graphics, cache, CSS, JS, fonts, server performance, and third-party modules;
At the time of the task assessment, we received information from the website developers that further speed improvements were impossible and that the current result was the maximum. However, following a website audit by our developer, we proposed a number of solutions that would speed up the site and projected a performance increase of at least twofold on some pages. These included the Home page, the individual course landing page (group lessons), the Services page, and the Contact page.

The site must return the first byte no later than 2 seconds after the request.
The score is calculated based on time intervals and depends on the timestamp of the first frame of content being generated, the formation of a frame with sufficient content, the formation of all content, and the maximum delay between the visitor's ability to interact with the site.
Of primary importance to PageSPeed is the speed at which the first screen—a sufficient portion of content—is generated. This is assessed by analyzing a series of screenshots, from the start to the window.load event +3000ms.
