Development of a corporate identity for a brokerage company

case picture
About the project

ModyTrade is a group of brokerage support experts who teach how to make money on stock exchanges. Their training courses explain clear trading rules with minimal risk and high potential profits. This allows their clients to earn money rather than lose it. A client contacted us to develop their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube) to attract clients for training.

Project Features:

Since we're promoting not the company as a whole, but a team of professionals and training products, we can't be tied to the previous corporate style.

Market analysis

Before getting started, we analyzed the market and came to the conclusion that there are certain myths that many of us associate with trading, for example:

  1. «"Trading is too risky a business." Let's start with the fact that any business involves risk, regardless of the type of activity. Trading isn't suitable for everyone simply because it's a type of entrepreneurship that only certain personality types are inclined to. This doesn't mean they're fearless. They know how to manage it and calculate risks in advance. Therefore, this type of activity can be considered as risky as cross-stitching. If a person is prone to constant calculations, then this type of business may be suitable for them.
  2. «"Trading is a man's game." When our client filled out the brief, they immediately noted that their target audience was predominantly male, but that doesn't mean only this segment of the population works in this field. For example, Clara Furze, who has headed the London Stock Exchange for 19 years, has achieved an annual income of £1.5 million over 25 years, and Carol Gelly, who went from a librarian to a successful trader and manages $557 billion in capital.
Why does a business need a corporate identity?
Facts
  • ModyTrade is clear, simple, open, and transparent (we don't promise palaces, millions, or steamships).
  • Mody comes from the word "commodity," meaning goods that are actively resold on organized markets.

Notice that all the "competitor" companies use "upward" symbolism, for example:

1 chart - arrows that go up;

4 graph - two arrows pointing upwards, shifted towards the center

We also analyzed the same type of company as Mody Trade; they also frequently use the symbols of "lifting up" and "reliability, protection," for example:

2 chart - arrows going up

3 graph - logo with a lion, symbolizing reliability

5 chart - a ball with lines going up

6 graph - style elements are directed upwards

Client's wishes

There is such a concept among traders as «Bulls» (traders and investors who make money on price growth) and «Bears» (market participants who are confident of its fall).

The client wanted to reflect these phenomena in the logo. And based on our analysis, a bull was the perfect fit.

Typography

The typeface pairs perfectly with virtually any font, which is especially useful in today's diverse content landscape. The wide line structure makes the font easy to read at small sizes—essential for mobile devices.
